A Child of the Jago

About the brand

Founded in 2007, A Child of the Jago is a fashion collaboration born out of the friendship between London gentlemen Simon Armitage and Joseph Corre. The name 'A Child of the Jago' refers to a Victorian novel written by Arthur Morrison, about a young man's dangerous and darkly beautiful life in a slum in the East End of London called The Jago, where Armitage and Corre operate today. The pair reject the banal, monotonous menswear, that pervade the clothing industry, offering instead Victorian inspired fashion with modern updates and an old London feel. Their line is a mix of both casual and formal pieces. A Child of The Jago t-shirts show off bold Gothic imagery. A Child of the Jago jackets and A Child of the Jago shirts are beautifully constructed, with such eye-catching details as upholstered buttons, ruffled bib fronts, and silk collars.
